Nevada expanded Medicaid coverage under the Affordable Care Act, which means more parents and other adults may qualify for free or low-cost health insurance. Research has shown that when parents are insured, they are more likely to enroll their children. Las Vegas-based Foundation for Positively Kids, has a network of community-based, school-based, and specialty health care clinics that provide health services to children and families. Positively Kids has integrated enrollment assistance to children and parents who are eligible for Medicaid and CHIP throughout their health care clinics and beyond, engaging a robust community coalition to reach the uninsured.
