Mental health is a key contributor to children’s overall health and well-being, affecting how they think, feel, and act. During Mental Health Awareness Month each May, the Connecting Kids to Coverage National Campaign focuses on raising awareness about the important mental and behavioral health services covered by Medicaid and the Children’s Health Insurance Program (CHIP) and the different ways families can access those services.
In this webinar, held in May 2024, speakers from the Centers for Medicaid and CHIP Services and the National Center for School Mental Health at the University of Maryland discussed the impact of school-based mental health services, the latest data on youth mental health, and best practices for working with partners and stakeholders to build effective school-based programs.
